Maybe your amino acids take a while to appear/get to the correct level (or whatever they do lol) after exfoliating. I cant see how a cream/bottle of tinted moisturiser/tan would make any difference because the skin seems not to be reacting with the higher % DHA in spray solution so it's not gonna work with a lower % which are in the creams etc.
