You use the fixing lotion to fix them into shape..e.g if they're on the rod if tixes them into a curl so no, just use the perming solution, or maybe you could try again with a larger rod. I can't say exactly what timing but i wouldn't suggest leaving it on 10 minutes if they've only recently been done as this is v. bad for the lashes.
